Hi,
Is there a way of saving and restoring the positions of the icons on the desktop in ubuntu_8.10/gnome/nautilus?
Or, does anyone know where the icon position data is stored?
Thanks.

This is weird... Are you switching resolutions or something?
The icons shouldn't move...
Are you using what method to arrange them?
Live long and prosper.
And use lotsa Linux, BSD, and Emacs.
No, I'm not switching resolutions.
I'm not having any trouble with the icons moving.
I just click and drag, and I have auto arrange disabled.
My goal is that...
I'm just looking for how to adjust their positions from a script for a project I'm working on.
